So I had gotten Stars in Shadow a little while back. Love the game, namely because Arioch did the artwork and I was following it’s development since I was at ETSU since 2011. Do check out the overall project, it’s really cool! Currently available on Steam.

Either way, decided to do this video because I ran into the Civ equivalent of a barbarian, and my old ships weren’t killing it. In fact, there was nothing on Youtube specifically outlining how much firepower you needed to kill a Steward. I set out to resolve that. Hopefully this helps someone out that go into a pickle like me.

You should have a bit of fun with this page! I get to delve into my Kashri species a bit, so enjoy.

While their meetup went well, Vash’na tells Benthessia about her encounter of a hun, which ends up resulting in her getting arrested by starbase security. At least we get a win, right?

This page drew from inspiration of two particular posts that was floating around the week I drew this; one user talking about Lipsense people at an airport, and another was a user who censored a face when talking about an LLR botique. So those two got incorporated into that.

Vash’na came out real well here for some reason. All her face markings were spot on.

In 2001, I was slowly allowed to start buying PC games that I liked with my allowance. The first few titles were stuff available off the Big Lots store shelf, as they were often cheaper. Things like Bugdom and Disney’s Atlantis: Trial by Fire. However, one winter evening near Christmas a game caught my attention. It was a game by the name of Fargate, and it was 50% off in a bargain bin when I had walked in that day. I HAD to get it, considering it looked to be a more complicated game than the “standard” education games I’d play.

It was quite a trip. I had technical difficulties with the game for several years so I never played it past the 4th stage. When I went to college in 2010, I discovered my issues stemmed from the CD being scratched around the rim. I found a cheap replacement copy on eBay and proceeded to beat the game not too far after.

My original manual from 2001, along with the more recently acquired CD case from eBay. I possess the box but was not able to find it for publishing this interview.

When I started to do my interview series, Fargate was one of the games I had an easier time finding people who worked on. In addition to finding such little background information on the game, I felt a proper notation in the interwebs was needed.

This is another of those “grab a photo to show Dave what I’m eating”, which then works for all of you to see what I’m also eating. Win-win both ways.

On this Friday night I show you what’s for dinner, spicy dal and very well-made roti. It’s a simplistic but very tasty dish. There’s also some chutney in there for added tang; you can’t go wrong with this combination.

Suffice to say Dave was very pleased. He’s now claiming we need to mix bratwurst with roti and have a combination/cross-cultural cook off one of these days. That actually sounds very enticing.

I think at least 2/3rds of my time on this comic is being spent on backgrounds. Someone on Reddit made the comment that it’s not wasted, however. I set the tone and scene really well! So there’s that.

I decided to give Todd and Benthessia the other companions from the first comic, and let them come along for the ride. More people for the readers to love, right?

You can tell I had fun showing these characters linking up with each other.

And yes, Benthessia meditates, Vash’na has a plush whale and those are space guns below her.

About two years ago I was cleaning up stuff that was leftover from my parents’ remodeling of their house. This included several sorts of things such as pretty much anything in my closet, post-college knick-knacks and some stuff from my teenage years.

This in particular was a folder that’d be the equivalent of my iPad nowadays; a bunch of writing, picture scraps and half-finished drawings.

However when going through this I found an interesting image tucked between some other paper. It was a faded color image on copier paper of an oil painting, showing a scene from the Civil War. A girl was featured on the right standing on a fence, lifting her dress to show an American flag hidden beneath.

I obviously had stuck it in there years ago, probably over a decade at least. I have no idea why it  was in there, but I was guessing it was in there since about 2002-2003. Finding it in 2016, I had no idea what the painting was, who was in it or anything about the story at all.

I literally spent an all-nighter on this. O_O

First, voting results. Benthessia was the winner by one vote! Everyone else was a tie in at second. That was a shock for me, and while I process what to do with that revelation, will plug ahead as promised. Todd now has a lovely Notikan women to stand by his side and help him out in the challenges ahead.

I spent a huge amount of time on the cockpit and the homeworld panels, but I really wanted to hammer what the Notikan homeworld was like. As much as I’ve written it by myself and want to portray in Dawnstar one of these days, I had to actually come up with something to show how their world looked. I finally settled on something partially ancient and a little regal, as a herald to their ancient Latin-like roots.

But Brayleigh, Todd’s ex-wife rears her ugly head upon seeing that Todd has a new friend. Looks like he has his work cut out for him.
