I’m Now a Physics Lab Rat

Well, it’s official. I have a job again, but this time thankfully it’s something a lot different than dealing with annoying customers at a retail store. I’m now a physics lab assistant! I have a ton of work to do in the labs and help the physics professor out, but tasks include maintaining science equipment, taking care of the observatory among other things. It’s a ton of work, and first thing was getting the workstation actually working and online! So a shot of accomplishment at the end of the day’s work after that.

Ah, the weekend is here, Friday is turning dark soon, I have to go to the observatory in about an hour or two, and I’m browsing the internet. I think I shall now type my blog….

I had Mrs. Foutch’s Political Science test today. C. told me to tell her that he’s still in ‘La La Land’, wherever that is. I still have to find out on the map the location of the mysterious La La Land (yes, I know it’s a fictional place)…

I have some stuff going on this weekend. When I get back, I shall play Mechassault 2 to my heart’s content!! XD Then I shall work on the new installment on the Space Raptors story. I have actually have to finish one of them to completion, someday. That’s a quest in itself.

Finally have art trades! I’m drawing some stuff for people in the dA forums. In return, they’ll draw stuff for me! I have one done and have three more to wrap up! I know one person is working on it at least.

Enough said. I’m going to finish drawing the IGA Brittanica.

Wow, things catch up a lot, but now that I’m almost up to speed, composition is easier.

Biology Lab test today! I hope I did well, it seemed pretty okay. Only a few bones and one vein seemed to give me trouble, I did a good job remembering everything. I should get my grade back for that later today.

We had snow flurries today! My car had a 1 cm covering of snow, and the lawn was whitish for once! But unfortunately, I see the sun out the window right now, and I am 99% sure that its melted when I get home. Then again…

Off to more writing! I shall write and write and write….must update about my space universe…as soon as finish up the physics lab today…at least its not that messy anymore.

I want to go do a Eurodance party so bad! I also have taken a liking to music from Japanese artist Tamaki Nami, and want the Mechassault soundtrack so bad. They don’t have that anywhere.

I think I’m due for another Gundam Seed movie. I watched Red Dawn about a month ago, and enjoyed it tremendously. I will admit I did cry; it was the first movie that made me cry. They did a very good job at portraying the emotions that are entwined with the friendship between Arthun, Cagalli, and Kira. Very touching. Its good to see them together again. And the last part about Cagalli being Kira’s brother? Ho boy, that was a curveball!

Speaking of movies, movies I have watched recently are Over The Hedge, Cars, and Hoot. All good movies.

Now I’m off to have lunch and go clean the labs.

Okay, somewhat short because its nighttime and we’re going home soon, I am revamping the Millenium Project plans and starting to design it on paper from scratch again, in light of Window’s Vista’s release. I have a delayed project time, but am trading waiting until the end of the semester for countless hours to work on it, a double increase in funding, and a wider of array of parts that came out from Saitek Industries, namely the Eclipse II keyboard.

My crab is missing. I have not seen it for about a week, and fear the worst. I still drop in algae tablets at night in hopes that it will eat it, and hope that it is still okay. Though it may only live for about a month or so, and that I’m slightly scared of it, I like it a lot, and its my pet. I don’t know if it tried to attack a platy that’s also missing, and I’m still mystified how it breached the plastic barrier on the fish tank…I hope it shows up soon.

Well, slightly short on time, but not enough that I have to write a short blog.

So far so good. My job is doing well. Cleaned another section of the lab. Man, that place is a goldmine with the things you find. Its like you’re in dreamland! Surrounded by science…I love my job. Much better than dealing with my Food City job.

I submitted a pretend budget to Mrs. Foutch today in hopes of what she’ll say. Definitely took some inspiration from Gundam, and I’m curious what her input is with economics and political science. When I have results, I’ll be sure to share them.

I think I have math homework at home when I get there. I know I will go to bed early, and will want to draw and write. I will try to find a way to post some of my stories online on Facebook. I think I’ll just post it as a note. If that’s the case, I’ll post a few before I go home.

About my blogging, I will try to post a blog every day. If I don’t, I assure you I’ll try to do one at least once every other day. Helps me get over not writing people now that I don’t have pen pals anymore. Those are hard to come by these days.

Better get going before it gets too late.

I believe I have a bunch of time on my hands at the moments. Here’s the deal.

One, the USS Orion has finished preliminary repairs of the starter coil. I can now use it.

I am planning to head to the Delta Region in Johnson City today to visit family. I heard parking is horrible at ETSU, and that they want their own football team again.

My male betta died last night after a vicious fish fight that took place earlier that day when I wasn’t home. I wasn’t happy, and now have to start back from square one on my betta breeding program.

I cleaned part of the physics lab closet yesterday. There is so much old stuff in there! It definitely was a process. I even found some improperly stored materials in a normal cardboard box, for two decades on a shelf and NOBODY knew about it. I think I made Dr. Morgan’s day…

Now, let’s rock. I’ve got some butt to kick.

NOTE: Future Janeil here. It’s funny to see how time passed since with this blurb, and ETSU now has it’s own football team. It seems like they only got it together and started building in 2015. Just an observation on the passage of time.

I am finally settling in for my first week of college so far. Trigonometry looks challenging, yet assuring that it will be easy. Political Science looks like an extremely interesting class, in addition to that I have met a friendly acquaintance called Wendy, and someone who’s a member of the Astronomy club. Biology 2 is the only thing I am worried about at the moment, but am sure will do very well.

A starter coil on the Orion seems to have gone bad. The car just clicks when I turn the key, then all of a sudden, starts as if nothing happened…

That’s about it for the moment. Will post more pictures.

Notable Quotes from Past Memories – 2007

I did an experiment on Facebook with those “form letters” that go around. I asked those in my friend list what they remember best about me. These were some of the responses I got:

“Dude…JCPenney is only on one side…”

– Misty V.

“Ryan’s. I ate so much.”

– Laura B.

“Who can forget Dunkin’ Doughnuts?”

– R.H.

“How about when we drove in Greenville? We took the max up there and then we came home and got the 240. That was fun everyone was out that night!

– J.H.

“Remember the time that you and Jason went with me to Bristol to look at the Christmas lights and the Corolla passed 2 cars on the high banks of BMS (Bristol Motor Speedway) and also when we went to Knoxville to look at my cousins car.”

– Brandon D. Lane

Thanks, you guys.

Fleet Photo – USS Orion Cockpit

I’ve had some people asking me about Orion’s interior, specifically the inside. So I decided to grab this shot before I headed out; considering it’s Monday and all. So what’s going on here?

Well first, you get quad power outlets, leather boot for the shifter, pedal plates, steering wheel cover, rubber liner for the handbrake well and while it’s not visible, a temperature/compass/clock on the floor of the console. I also have a neck brace on the seat belt to make it more comfortable when driving long distance.

Upper section you get to see my radar detector (which works better as a scanner for everything else BUT police radar), a notepad to jot down something quick and an dolphin amulet I had bought from Pigeon Forge a few years ago.

The blue switch does light up, and controls the runner lights on the windshield sprayer nozzles; they’re a bright blue, and illegal to drive with in Tennessee. So I have a manual switch to control them separately from the main lights. The hole to the left of it was for another switch that toggles with a nice green light, and is supposed to be setup for a pair of fog lights in the near future.

So yes, my cockpit ladies and gentlemen. Now you know what it’s like to be at Orion’s helm.
