After playing Ori and the Blind Forest for awhile, realized how Lindsey Stirling’s music style was quite similar in certain styles of the game. This idea brewed of Lindsey Stirling doing her thing with Ori looking in awe. DashingIce was happy to oblige.

While this did get posted to my Twitter with both parties tagged, this never did get any recognition from them unfortunately. Still, it’s here and there for posterity.

Smooth sailing so far. Nearly at my destination this morning, about 15 minutes or so outside Riviera Beach. Have a bit of a deadline, but once that’s met, it’s slow and easy driving back home. I’ll be sure to let you guys know of anything interesting I see as always.

It’s been a long time coming, but my Michiko book has finally seen the light of day for publishing! Last touches were put on it this Sunday, and it hit Amazon’s Kindle market not too long after. Still going through announcements in all of my known channels with this joyous news.

Thanks again for all those who backed the Kickstarter project, those on deviantART, and everyone else who’s shown interest in this work. Enjoy!

Thought I’d drop in quickly and give you an official update on Michiko Bates and the progress it stands. I’ve been directing posts regarding art to go on the Tumblr periodically, but aside from the Kickstarter backers, haven’t really made an official statement in case something else gets majorly delayed. I think its safe to do so at this point.

Despite the Kickstarter failure, we still prodded on. Continued writing, continued drawing and whatever else. Now one year later, we’ve made a lot more headway that what we had originally planned. What had started out as a 40,000-50,000 word novel with 10 sketches turned out to be a 70,000 word novel with over 22 illustrations.

I see a lot of people that I see around me, trying to grab old videogame systems for cheap then turn a huge profit on them, or people who swooning how good 8-bit graphics are and downputting most 3D games. I never did and don’t get the hype about those old games; and it isn’t a generation gap, it I wasn’t brought up playing these games.

My parents greatly frowned upon most if not all forms of gaming. Computer games heavily as they owned computers (I didn’t own my first system till I was 16 or 17). Video game systems so much more. All my cousins had SNES or NES systems. Gameboys, even.

As autumn starts filling the skies with shorter sunsets, the ground with yellowed grass and leaves from trees, I realize just how long I’ve been putting off posting. I had composed a few things as a backlog for continuing with my blog on a full-time basis, but have not due to a pressing family issue currently going on in my life. When it clears I’ll hopefully be back to my good old self.

Dawnstar has progressed greatly over the 15 months that I had hired an illustrator to help me with the art. This was the biggest burden on me for completing the game, and after all that time coming to a point that I have a complete set of art assets for the project. Hannah has been nothing short of helpful and a great person to work with.

It only seemed like it was about 6 months ago since I sat down and bought janeilh.com. My Kickstarter came and went, the new year started, and now here we are in 2015 almost exactly one year later.

I had seriously considered letting my site go offline due to to the costs to let it continue (it had hit the 1 year limit and was expiring), but I believe that would be greatly counter-productive to what I’m trying to achieve with it. At least it shows up on the first page when you search my name.

So janeilh.com continues to live. And is also the first time I’ve had my own website with my own domain name for longer than a year. Happy 1-year anniversary! May we look forward to lots of new content and updates for the next year ahead.
