During the summer, I drew a random doodle of a character whom I dubbed “egghead girl”. I was specifically stylized for what I typically draw, and was inspired to do a pencil sketch about a month later. She evolved from the headsketch into this, a bookish character that runs a half library/half art museum, cataloguing strange finds for people to see.

All that time later, I finally got around to translating this to digital format. I didn’t focus too much on the background, mainly wanting to color the character in whole and show some tone with the ambient color.

This is probably my last art piece for the year, and I’m glad to close it out on such a note. See you next year, everyone.

Well, tonight it one of the first times in ages I’m able to relax on Christmas Eve. However, I was behind on art obligations, so I decided to poach off of my Mom’s computer to draw. Why? Well, it’s within tossing distance of the Christmas tree and the kitchen. That way I’m not isolated in my room, holiday togetherness and whatnot.

So my online friend CDMR Taranava ran a “greeting card” contest with the Mobius PVE group; the prize? Two Galnet paint pack for the Anaconda. Me and CMDR Jack Webb were the lucky winners to walk away with said prizes.

Personally, I’m happy with how this came out. I see a few things that could be tweaked, and I did this on someone else’s PC as I took a desk break away from my normal computer for Christmas. I have some other gift art I need to get out of the way, but this came first as I forgot the contest ended Sunday. Oops. ;_;

So there is a little tangent I went down this holiday; trying to establish a connection with someone I barely touched base with in 2004-2005. I did speak to them some back in the day, meeting on a place called the Chex Quest Talk forums. When I started going to Walters State I forgot about them, but recently I found them and decided to reach back out.

Suffice to say it went well, and I regret not doing it sooner. I could truly say I know what it feels like connecting with someone who you haven’t spoken to in over a decade. As a sort of gift for him, I drew him and Ki’voosh under some mistletoe, as he took a liking to her from my Ellowwood Keepers piece. And what do you know, he loved it.

Unlike last year, I actually took some time to properly decorate my office space now that construction was done more or less. Since I did have a fair amount of work this month, I especially tried to make sure it looked real Christmas-y around the workstation, and even had a garland going around under the monitors! And while I did set up the community tree, I didn’t get to do anything community with it this year, unfortunately. I’ll try to do better next time!

While this concept was something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time, I started on it just around the time @gettingoutofmyhometown was having her Instagram giveaway. If you draw something with her character for the event, your art gets a chance to be featured, along with being given 3 entries for the giveaway.

So I did a different version of this piece, putting her character in as the protagonist instead of who I was originally going to go with. Honestly I think it came out well. She was impressed with it as well, going to print out a copy to hang up!

As for the story behind the original plot? I’ll do the original version I had intended first, but I’ve been making notes and I do plan on writing about it. But it involves a prototype space-superiority fighter, an old engineer looking for young blood to fly it, and a looming threat intentionally being buried under wraps.

You’ll definitely be hearing about this story in the future.

This one was a blast, despite having to draw so many figures. But the feedback was worth it!

Did you know that apparently it’s a thing to dress up as MLM products? Me neither. So Todd and company decide to show off some proper Halloween costumes. We have Todd as the Deus Ex Machina guy, Benthessia as Witch Mercy, Marcella as 2B and Vash’na as Sylvanas. Also enjoy the Gatchaman reference, too!

We have tons of subreddit references here, and all of the huns were from posts featured on the board during Halloween. Someone dressed up their kid as a Young Living oils bottle, as unbelievable as it sounds.

Looking at this from a general distance, I believe I mixed the colors real well on this one. This particular one looks a bit vibrant from the others. I think it has to do because I did most of the backgrounds and didn’t use filtered stock photos. Hmm…

This was gift art to KobaltWolf, admin of a Zelda fan page and a streamer of Overwatch. She absolutely loves Hanzo and after a joke about “forgetting how to princess”, I knew I had to draw the two together.

Thankfully cweinmanart was there to help me out, and this was the result of that idea. Kobalt loved it and even uses for her Discord and streams. Cool!
