So when I went to the KnoxAsia festival with my cousin’s fiance, we grabbed food; after all, that was one of the best things you could ask for while at a festival. She had some butter chicken with naan, and I had stir-fry fried rice with chicken, and some zucchini strips. We had to wait quite awhile for our food (about an hour), but when we sat down to eat in the lawn, it was an interesting experience for sure.

This is a commission I did for u/InkdNPrcdAngl of her and her boyfriend, done up in a “Bonnie and Clyde” style gangsters. She absolutely loved it, and definitely appreciated me taking the time to put this together! I’ve admittedly not drawn stuff from this era before, so this was pretty interesting to work on, to say the least.

I love to shop at Publix, if it wasn’t obvious already. Especially in the evening of the summer months; it’s a way for me to relax. I’m not an advocate for retail therapy, but when you’re at home quite a bit, getting out helps alleviate being shut-in.

When I went this evening and was about to leave, I noted this large anvil cloud forming in the distance. I was inspiring to look at, especially seeing it loom in the low-light evening hours. I’m almost certain I’ll see a storm wen driving home tonight.

When I was out for my evening exercise walk, this growing cumulonimbus caught my attention. Aside from it being an interesting sight, I took a snap as it’d be helpful when doing Ellowwood artwork (as it is a skyworld, after all).

I’ve seen this scene a number of times, but a lot of times I’m driving to not take a picture.I’m glad to actually have caught this phenomenon with a camera in hand.

I’m sorry I don’t have the footage for the character to go for this (I didn’t plan to do a video of this), but I was doing free drawings for people on Reddit, and I offered u/concerned_squirtle to do a full backgrounded piece for his character. I figured it was good practice for me instead of relying on stock photos for backgrounds, so stab at it I did. This was the result.

I know another Redditor really liked the noir look of this, and that is exactly what I was aiming for. While her attire doesn’t match, that was the tone I was going with. Now just add some old city jazz from this, and you got yourself a story.

The original art piece can be seen here!

This summer I’m getting into the “campfire cooking” a little bit, though mostly it involves me trying to roast hot dogs or bake potatoes. My biggest undertaking so far has been a recipe for mac n cheese in a dutch oven, which is another story in itself.

Most of these times I find that I have the fire to myself, so I get to do whatever I want, whether its put as much wood as I’d like, or cook/toast anything I prefer to eat. On one such evening, I decided to snap the two hot dogs I had over the fire

I use Hebrew National as I don’t eat pork, and the spit was a $2.99, 4-foot length I found at Wal-Mart. It’s real handy so you don’t have to be right next to the fire, I recommend a long one if you’re out at the fire frequently.

Otherwise, came out great. The fat from the hot dog crusted and toasted nicely, and the both hot dogs tasted wonderful.

So I tried to make my own frappe thing based from ingredients in the store. I have caramel syrup in the coffee, then topped it off with whipped creamed and caramel drizzle. It didn’t taste too bad, but I found that the caramel syrup didn’t taste at all like the caramel in the drizzle, and the whipped cream did leave a bit of a miss. Overall not a bad concoction.

This was the first WritingPrompts I had done in 2019 on Reddit. I definitely fell in line, hook and sinker for the plot; write a story about being polite to the dragon, rather than defeating it for the goal. I decided to use an idea I ad from something I was writing in 2009, with a sort of OC based on me and a girl called Jennifer (whom you might’ve seen art for here in the past), going together through various settings like time travelers. I used the Reddit prompt to formulate a sort of “intro” story to that idea, which I’ll be springboarding off with in the future.

This is the second part of a two-part post, which the first part was posted a few weeks ago.

This version is also slightly edited, as I didn’t like how rough the first part was written on-demand when posting. This was done as my on-the-fly typing for the prompt had plot holes, and things wouldn’t match up from the edits I did for the first entry.

Done in April 21, 2019.

Note: My writing for Reddit writing prompts is different for brevity. While this is a good example of my writing, I often omit backstory and several details to create a concise post. Please look at my other works if you’re looking for my more regular style of writing.

For me loving Queens, I had no idea this cafe existed. It was closer to the residential block near Merrick, and was strangely upkept in comparison to the older and rundown establishments on the same block. Why it wasn’t covered in graffiti or looked like it was a cheap knock-off smartphone shop was beyond me. It was set apart from the others, its clean red brick exterior clashing with the violet and gray painted shops around.
