Just a quick update. Sorry if I sound a little rushed in this one. But got my computer updated, for now. Have some stuff coming up soon, so stay tuned!
Sheena and 007 Pierce Brosnan Collab – Aitia
This was a real interesting piece to say the least. I met this girl by the name of Aitia online, who listened to my idea of a lineart collab. She took my idea of drawing James Bond and Sheena Fujiayabashi together, then let me color the piece! This has been in production since August of 2010, so I’m glad to finally get it done.
It was one of my first big pieces I had spent time to color properly with new methods such as multiply and layers, and I even got to use my brother’s Mac at the time to work on it to finish (it even worked wonderfully with my tablet!)
I’m less than impressed with the background, but I can always visit this piece in the future and give it a facelift when my skills get better, right?
Dawnstar: First Yorina Concept
I’m not exactly sure when I started to do this drawing, but I know I was in Color Theory class and we were watching a movie of Exit Through the Gift Shop, a documentary about the street art movement. I honestly was getting a little bored with it and my mind wandered to Dawnstar, realizing I hadn’t quite visualized my Yorina character. I decided to give her a stab and try to draw her out.
This was the final result, and had her all done to this point by the time the movie had ended. The biggest thing I was worried about was the face, and I actually did make it passable. I was happy with the entire result, and that snark that showed in her face became engrained into her personality as time went on. Out of all the other Dawnstar characters that I drew, she had come out the best, ironically.
Courier Jet Shuttle Sketch
This was a plane I tried doodling one day on my Bamboo tablet. I had saved it and said I’d come back to it later, but never did. I should finish this one of these days.
I really liked how it seemed to be a mash up of an RAF bomber and a business jet. I think I had it in mind to make a military shuttle/courier.
ETSU Classwork – Visual Thinking Storyboard Animatic Project
This is a project I cooked up while in my first DIGM class of the year at ETSU. It was a storytelling sequence in which we had to add sound effects and other things like voice acting, and tell a story in 3 minutes roughly. This was my project. It was a freelancer and a couple of his friends who are hired to return a ship Navigator along with a combat droid to a docked starship. Got criticized that this was more movie like but I guess I can’t win them all. Got a good grade, so that counts.
EDIT 2018:
Little did I know this would be one of the cornerstones for developing Dawnstar as time went on. My characters would morph into more original versions and veer off into something that I would be pleased with. It’s interesting to look back and see how far it’s come from simple sketches and this storyboard concept, even.
Let’s Make it Better
This was something I was doodling on my tablet this evening. I’ve just felt isolated a bit and though I have people to talk to here at ETSU, it doesn’t feel real deep and I don’t think I feel like I fit in to do something more. My mind kind of wandered to doing something impactful with a girlfriend figure by my side; I usually draw my OC Jennifer in that role, but I guess the Sheena character from Tales of Symphonia was in my head at the time. Not sure how to find that at college, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen from hanging out in a Christian outreach group, that’s for sure.
ETSU – Raster 1 Final

Well, that took forever.
This is my final composition piece for my Digital Media class this semester. I picked a G-17 in the heat of a skirmish kicking the Aeon out of a system. It’s one of the first times I’ve shown the “good guys” getting a pounding. It’s also one of the first art pieces that I’ve done that I’ve felt somewhat emotional about.
Title pretty much speaks because of the picture in the corner on the dashboard. More or less it sums up how I’ve felt at school if that picture wasn’t there; doing what you had to do and that it might benefit somebody else, but you’re by yourself in the end…
I took a lot of heavy inspiration from the modern F-22 cockpit for this, including avionics and the glass-panel look that the fighter had. Apparently my teacher was not a fan of this, preferring something more old, rugged and practical. I don’t blame him, that’s just not the IGA aesthetic of things.
Definitely sunk a number of hours on this. My tablet was still being nonsensical at the time, despite only having it a year up to now. Let’s hope I get it actually working to do what I want as time goes on, otherwise it’s just a paperweight.

ETSU – Carrot in the Library
When I was hanging out with my friend at Sherrod library, we found this random carrot half-stuck in the trash can on the way out. And this wasn’t a small carrot either; this was like a 1-foot kind in the big bags in the produce section.
Both of us were definitely baffled, and she couldn’t figure out why someone had a carrot in there in the first place. Third floor I believe.
