While walking at West Town Mall, I was surprised to see this installed vending machine with a touchscreen.
Futuristic me was elated, especially since I was still busy playing Mass Effect 3 and imagining a futuristic world in the next 10 years. This was also on top of a class project where I had to create a touchscreen vending machine in an airplane, which dispensed hygiene products. So seeing something in life that sort of followed that model was spiffy.
It was enough I even showed Mom, who took a pause herself at seeing this giant screen vending machine as well.
But to my dismay, everything was sold out. While I didn’t need the drink, I had planned to see how it handled the purchase.
Unfortunately, the mall was still banning photography in the mall when I took this. So it wasn’t as clear as I liked to showcase what was going on. The reason I bent that rule was for how monumental that was.
EDIT: Future Janeil here. I never saw a touchscreen vending machine like this till 2015 or so, and it was outside of Tennessee. I wish they caught on more.
