On the Road – Tennessee to New York City
Finally am on the road again after this long while! I’ll be sure to update you with anything interesting I see. While I’m slotted to help drive on the way in, that time is longer into the evening afterwards.
So for now, I get to nap and lounge on the backseat. While out of date, I took the smaller GPS and plastered it to my window so I can see a general trip progress. Hey, it works.
Eateries – Bran Flakes and Coffee
Breakfast in Queens is always simple. It’s quite a different change when you’re on the road scrounging McDonalds biscuit and eggs; sometimes my aunt does give something more Guyanese when we arrive, but often breakfast is very simple, composing of bread and cereal.
This was the case here, especially since we were trying to get back home in time for July 4th. Breakfast was very simple; regular bran flakes, milk and coffee. Honestly, I actually enjoyed this before heading out, especially considering this was eaten at 7:30AM. Though I got hungry pretty quickly afterwards.
Heading into Downtown
The first thing that came to mind were the Red Flag stories of “going downtown”, where the populace was SAMs and other aerial threats. That’s exactly what came to mind when I saw this going into New York; this was the first time seeing the big city on a GPS, so it was very enlightening to say the least. If anything, it made me more excited.
