mobius pve

This is the result of a joke from someone out of Mobius PvE making a joke about my previous piece yesterday. Apparently they clearly were able to ascertain that not only were the two gals the co-pilots, that also they meant a lot in the piece. As such, they made a innuendo joke about me being on top of things, which is a reference to the pilot on top/co-pilots on the bottom seating arrangement of both the Type-9 Heavy and Type-10 Defender. I thought it was a funny pun, and had to actually visualize this image that was in my head.

Morale of this piece? Make sure your copilots don’t mind you being on top of them. And Lakon should probably build better seating arrangements in their ships. I’m also sure those two would be pretty coordinated to fly like that; almost like those super robot anime things.

This is more birthday art, this time for online buddy CMDR Taranava!

We have a joke about people that join MobiusPVE, attack players then feign ignorance. We call them Goldfish CDMRS, due to the perceived short memory of our “no PVP” rule. If you’re wondering why this is perceived as fishy (no pun intended), our group is all about no PvP. That’s the reason the group exists, and its very public knowledge of what it’s about. Someone joining Mobius then doing said actions are quickly scrutinized; you don’t join an well-known PvE server to do PvP.

That laid out, here we have Taranava taking care of unruly goldfish, Imperial Saber being put to good use. Having greeted them at the landing pad, she only finds out about the new players’ true origins, dispatching of them quickly.

This was actually based on another admin’s suggestion, requesting that I had her and some of her maids battling goldfish CMDRs. Looks like I may need to do a part 2 to fulfill his request.

When I got involved with the Elite: Dangerous Mobius community, it didn’t take long for them to find out about my art. I especially took to drawing one or two of the admins with some of their commentary. Another admin later asked me to do a spread of most of their administrative team. I obliged, and while I had procrastinated on this, finished with this final project!

It’s fun, it gets used on their Facebook page and I still draw stuff for them. I actually do feel like I belong there, and it’s a great player group to play E:D with. o7, CMDR.

I don’t have the original hosted on many of my channels (nor is it posted out in public at the moment), but I’ll see about getting it on my site at least if not elsewhere.

So my online friend CDMR Taranava ran a “greeting card” contest with the Mobius PVE group; the prize? Two Galnet paint pack for the Anaconda. Me and CMDR Jack Webb were the lucky winners to walk away with said prizes.

Personally, I’m happy with how this came out. I see a few things that could be tweaked, and I did this on someone else’s PC as I took a desk break away from my normal computer for Christmas. I have some other gift art I need to get out of the way, but this came first as I forgot the contest ended Sunday. Oops. ;_;

Now and then we have contests in the Mobius PVE group. Most of these revolve around cartography data, finding griefers and even art contests. This recent one was for who posted the most amount of genuine content, which would result in being in the top ten contributors in the Facebook group.

The ten lucky boffins got picked, but I got special mention for the comics of the group! So when filling out the form to get my sticker packs, I had to upload “photo proof” of why I qualified for stickers. I got snarky instead, composing this instead of a screenshot.

I love Elite: Dangerous, I really do. But it’s a shame the only “fighter-like” ship is an Eagle or the things you launch. Even then, it wasn’t to my liking. So I doctored mine a bit. External missile points, a WW2 paint scheme and even a refueling probe on the nose.

Let’s hope the stickers get here soon.

Something I did for one of the people over at the ElitePVE/Mobius group; it was her birthday and I figured I’d finish up an old piece from January into a short comic.

The sassy and punny CMDR Taranava graces us with a worthwhile Anaconda joke. In the background is CMDR DEAMONSRUN9393, who is very grounded with anime tropes; hence his “nosebleed” reaction to Taranava perched on the Anaconda.

This was something fun I worked on randomly this evening, making a bit of fun of CMDR Taranava’s Duchess status. Obviously one of such social standing must have an entourage of maids and servants, so I decided to jokingly propose some of the CMDR’s maid staff.

From left to right:

Melody
Not so much a maid, more like a personal assistant and bodyguard. I see her knowing martial arts and doing things to keep the Duchess safe, along with tagging along with her to hold clipboards, and manage affairs.

Miyoko
A generic Imperial citizen that hails from Kamocan. Quiet, efficient and would take care of basically anything, but mostly housekeeping.

Hetricia
An old grump who divorced her husband, shuffles papers for the Duchess and makes sure her logistical needs are met. Yes, that is a Gutamaya-branded vacuum cleaner.

Stacey
A diva brat from a rich Imperial family, who’s now in debt and has to pay off her debts in Imperial indentured servitude. General work and housekeeping like Miyoko. Will join the Duchess if she does pranks and shenanigans.

Theodora
The Duchess’ personal wardrobe assistant, an Azrael native. Helps pick out outfits, along with carrying luggage and making sure she has what she needs in terms of attire.

Apparently this was a big hit on the boards, and a few of the members love certain maid assistants. I’ve been thrown the gauntlet to draw the maids toting various forms of weapons; we’ll see what that will hold.

Also the “crown” notation is a running joke on the board; apparently CMDR Taranava has a pretty spiffy headset with Imperial stickers on it. So the collective joke that the headset is the Duchess’ crown.
