This is a shot of the Millenium Project Alpha as I finish the last upgrade for this system. Though the hard drives can take more capacity and be swapped out, I’ve had this frame since 2007, and I believe it’s time to use another system in the near future.

However, the upgrades I installed in this system not only made it better, it solved a problem I’ve had since I was using the system in my last year of ETSU: the fan roaring when doing something taxing. Turned out the system was having brownout power issues, and a higher wattage PSU was in order. I naturally upgraded this when I heard that the 3.0Ghz processor required more power, and the 750W was the same price as a 550W the week I bought it (didn’t hurt to get more, right?)

New Arctic Silver paste, the PSU and processor are my last blessings on this computer. And with the upgrades over the years of the Bluetooth Media Card reader, additional DVD-ROM drive and even a Firewire card/port, I believe I can say I fulfilled my design philosophy of “maxing out” a system in my possession.

I’m glad to say the Millenium Project Alpha was my hot rod.

At my workplace, we have a whiteboard in the little kitchen area. Nobody really does anything on it except post a motivational flyer now and then. So I tried to add some funny doodles a few months in. I was inspired by a Dalek meme I had seen in school back in the beginning of the years, so I adapted it a bit as if they were working the job I was. 😛

Unfortunately, my coworkers didn’t appreciate it. It got erased a day later and nobody made a single comment on them. I never drew anything on their big whiteboard again.

Working late at my new workplace for a few months, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that it is a little unsettling after staying past 5PM, even when there’s only one or two people left in the building. This particular night I was past 7PM, and was one of the last ones in the building.

When stepping out to head home, I caught this picture down one of the two long corridors next to my office. My door is to the utmost right of the photo.

I will state that it may not be that unsettling to you, but it certainly didn’t make me want to stick around.

I found myself out of the neighborhood this afternoon, in the small town known as Lenoir City. Why? To meet some kid who was going to sell me a Gameboy. The meetup spot was Jet Pizza; while waiting for him to show, I ordered a pizza to take back home with me. I snapped this photo while waiting around; it had an interesting aesthetic to it; certainly not like the chains I go to; and while not in grandeur to M & S back in Dover, it had an older look that made me think back to the late 90s somehow. Maybe I’ll stop in here one of these days again.

I decided to try to mount a spare little markerboard sitting around at work onto my door. I also then decided to try to put some doodles on it to test! I think this works and I approve. Do enjoy the Startopia-like alien writing, with a flair of katakana influence.

Well, the time for me to graduate ETSU is finally here. In another hour I’ll have a Bachelor’s in Digital Media! Sitting here in the hall is like waiting in a dropship to be deployed. A life-changing moment for me to say the least. Let’s see what’s in store for me in the future.

I was not getting a lot of hands-on experience cooking fish, but living on my own was putting preparing food more squarely on my shoulders. One afternoon I finally got an almost perfect mix of breaded, pan-fried tilapia. Flavored with paprika, pepper and salt, I absolutely loved this, considering the last time I attempted this as a disaster. As I’m moving out of my place next week after graduation day, this will probably be one of the last big meals I’m cooking here unless I can top this off with something else.
