Working late at my new workplace for a few months, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that it is a little unsettling after staying past 5PM, even when there’s only one or two people left in the building. This particular night I was past 7PM, and was one of the last ones in the building.

When stepping out to head home, I caught this picture down one of the two long corridors next to my office. My door is to the utmost right of the photo.

I will state that it may not be that unsettling to you, but it certainly didn’t make me want to stick around.

I found myself out of the neighborhood this afternoon, in the small town known as Lenoir City. Why? To meet some kid who was going to sell me a Gameboy. The meetup spot was Jet Pizza; while waiting for him to show, I ordered a pizza to take back home with me. I snapped this photo while waiting around; it had an interesting aesthetic to it; certainly not like the chains I go to; and while not in grandeur to M & S back in Dover, it had an older look that made me think back to the late 90s somehow. Maybe I’ll stop in here one of these days again.

Well, the time for me to graduate ETSU is finally here. In another hour I’ll have a Bachelor’s in Digital Media! Sitting here in the hall is like waiting in a dropship to be deployed. A life-changing moment for me to say the least. Let’s see what’s in store for me in the future.

During my 2nd to last week of college at ETSU, I was in the print lab getting ready to hand in some stuff for Typography. It was semi-bittersweet; I wanted out of school because it felt like I was just being stuck there and not accomplishing a whole bunch, but I loved how it felt being late spring and having a bit of roam in the print lab. I happened to look out the window and saw how nice the yard looked outside, and decided to grab a shot. You can see a bit of me in the mirror in the lower right corner.

This was Ball Hall for those who was curious, 2nd floor I believe. I think this is looking north towards the big yard in front of Ball and Sam Wilson.

I apologize if the photo is blurry, but I swiped this from my Mom; she caught this as I was boarding my car to head to my apartment, with m last load of precious items to permanently stay at my apartment. Class was the next day, so the earlier I left and got settled in, the better. I told my family goodbye and basically just left on the dot at 6PM. It was a very weird and strange feeling, and I had never felt so independent in my whole life.

It was bittersweet, but I had been longing such a chance since I was supposed to go to Walters State in 2005; and this felt like a new page, a new reset to try again. But for the most part, it felt a lot better and more solid than what was going on then. Like something right had at least happened.

Zelda: Is our new home not amazing?

Sheena: Yeah! The high speed internet! No cows in the backyard! The city!

As my time was winding down at my factory job, I was starting to spend weekends and occasional nights at my apartment to get the feel of what it’d be like living there. This was one of those times. While plodding away at the computer, randomly decided to pose my Sheena and Zelda figurines together and snap this.
