Author’s Note: This article was written two weeks after this event took place in mid-December of 2016. After my situation in 2017, it got lost and neglected. When I restarted content earlier this year, a chain of events had taken place with the venue the previous season (2017), and I highly debated even posting my experience due to those events. Nevertheless, I’ll share as you can always count on me to. This is about my trip to the con at the time, not the drama and incidents that happened afterwards. It’s neither biased or reflects what I currently think of the venue.

I’ve done minor edits on this article to bring it current (specifically its ending), but it remains virtually unchanged from its 2016 version.

It’s been about seven years since I went to an anime convention of any sort. Animazement 2009 being my last stint of cosplay, hanging out at a convention and going to someplace of that sort with “friends”. It’s not something I really care to talk about, always telling myself that I’ll go one day and I’ll have the right people around me.

While on a random IT job, I flipped off the lights in the server room to call it a day. Lo and behold I saw this wonderful projection of the power symbol off the monitor switch; so I snapped a picture before heading out. Very interesting to look at if anything.

For my first company dinner, the group went out to Timberwood Grill. It actually was a great place to eat, and I had spiffy food of buffalo wings, along with fish and chips. All in all it was a good experience, and I would recommend.

Right before snapping this picture, a coworker was announcing that “I was taking pictures of my food” in a mocking and obnoxious manner. Yeah, whats-your-name. I will take pictures of my food if I like. Just the same way you can take dozens of photos of your kids.

Personal advice from me. Let people mind their own business in peace sometimes, and don’t be a loudmouth about it just because you can. Thank you.

Working late at my new workplace for a few months, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that it is a little unsettling after staying past 5PM, even when there’s only one or two people left in the building. This particular night I was past 7PM, and was one of the last ones in the building.

When stepping out to head home, I caught this picture down one of the two long corridors next to my office. My door is to the utmost right of the photo.

I will state that it may not be that unsettling to you, but it certainly didn’t make me want to stick around.

I decided to try to mount a spare little markerboard sitting around at work onto my door. I also then decided to try to put some doodles on it to test! I think this works and I approve. Do enjoy the Startopia-like alien writing, with a flair of katakana influence.
