Our adventure continues! Vash’na explains why she wanted to call starbase security on the hun. Some of her species backstory comes to light, and we get to the end of the introductory arc, ready to make their foray on Earth!

I had gotten some feedback from the guys at Anti-MLM Coalition with this panel, and had to cut on some of Vash’na’s species backstory. It honestly needs to be told to get a big picture of what’s going on, so maybe one day I’ll make a regular article then link it here. While this is set in a sort of alternate universe, the general history is the same.

Special thanks to Christina Weinman for the lineart of the 5th panel!

When the boom of Minecraft’s popularity happened, I was barely exposed to what had happened to keep track of it. I was either out of the loop or not around the gaming scene to remember much. But when it became popular, I realized that it wasn’t just some silly cube game, it was actually something quite remarkable.

Circa 2010, first semester of ETSU. I was in Color Theory class with a few other people. There was this one kid in particular called Coty. He was a bit of a nerd and we talked now and then. I remember that when we weren’t painting, he had his laptop out and would play games.

One week he kept going on about “Minecraft”. He had asked me to borrow $20 to buy it, which I agreed to lend him. He never followed through for me to buy it for him that evening, but when we had Color Theory the next time, he had it out on his laptop, running around and hitting cows. I thought it was rude until he explained that you needed to eat, so you had to kill animals.

Foremost, I do apologize if any images seem haphazard or out of place. It was hard to find creative common images that depicted office life in the era that I’m talking about, or show images about devices or setups that I describe. Any images of hardware are of those I took myself of devices I used to own. With that, let’s get started!

As someone who’s been working in an office for two years now, I can see how people can get annoyed with it. However with working in Food City and what was available for jobs when you were 16-18, working in an office was a dream.

Now I did have some sort of experience working with my parents. But it wasn’t really office work. Truth be told, I was still an observer. And even then, they were still busy trying to keep you off a computer rather than letting you grow with what you were good at. (One reason I’ve entered the gaming scene so late).

So, while browsing my site you might’ve noticed a few posts that are a bit older than my regular stream of content. Some stuff that may not match up with my current style of writing, pictures or even art.

These are backlogged posts that have been manually added to janeilh.com starting in 2018 and backdated to their appropriate time when they were created or relevant. These are mostly images and art pieces from an older period when I was bouncing around on places like Xanga, Myspace and Freewebs. But you might find some imported blogs, creative writing snippets and status updates.

This is also content from years past that I’ve created or have accumulated in the years, but have never posted either due to a personal “classified” statue, had no platform to post it on or did not feel it was wanted or belonged. Most of this content is photos I’ve taken throughout my life, though it may include other types of content such as videos, screenshots and such.

This is primarily for historical purposes if not nostalgia and sentimental value. Think of it as a curated, historical archive that you can scroll through and get a glimpse into my past, seeing interesting things, visages and sights that I’ve encountered in my earlier years. I view it as how I would’ve had a website in those days and realizing that dream I wanted, if I had the tools and creative freedom I had today.

And who knows? Maybe something I saw 10 years back may be just the thing someone wanted to know about that era.

If you’re scrolling down page by page to see what I have going on, anything under this post has been backdated non-organically. This post serves as a milestone as to when my site actually started up and entered the online world, both for me and anyone reading this.

This was posted February 11, 2018.
