Cardboard Creation – Borderlands 2 Longarm Pistol
I had just started playing Borderlands 2 on Xbox. Me being the creative fellow that I was, I drummed this up after falling in love with a long-barreled pistol in the game. That particular instance it was called the “Longarm”, hence the name.
I actually had a trigger but it tore off very easily when cutting the hole out. Oops.
Scientia en Potentia
My sister got her room remodeled a little bit, and part of what she did was get a portion of her room painted with the “markerboard paint”. I got to try it a little, and decided to put this fantastic piece out with one of the markers.
Even though I’m in DIGM now, it always feels like science doesn’t get a fighting chance. I got inspired to make a motivational poster for people to actually like science and keep their heads on logically. I might’ve been doing digital art, but I was probably the only one around that still wanted to do things with science and a telescope.
Maybe when my skills get better, I’ll revisit this concept again and do a proper piece. Only time will tell.
Novia and Her Rifle
I know it’s not much to look at, but this was a significant piece for me. I had gotten comfortable to walking into the ETSU DIGM labs on a whim to just use their PC’s for things, including the ones with the Cintiq 21UX tablets. This was the first drawing I did from start to finish, took me an hour one night when doing one of my classes that evening.
I knew at that point that I HAD to get one of those new Cintiq tablets for myself. That gave me the best drawing experience that no tablet had before.
So yes. Novia gives you happy belated Valentine’s Day wishes.
First Tablet Drawing – Airport Mania Commuter Jet
Loving my new Bamboo tablet so far, but I really need to get ahold of actually how to draw with one. While incomplete, this was my first creation; sue me for being a fan of Airport Mania. Those faces and blabbing the planes do are just straight-down adorable.
Basic Design 1 – Pencil Art Portrait
Got this done recently; this was my class assignment for drawing a portrait into an 18″ x 24″ full piece of an art piece in my Art History book (the name escapes me, but I’ll update it as soon as I remember). I got a B on it as I could’ve added more shading depth, but my teacher was impressed that I duplicated it more or less. I was surprised as well.
I’ll get a better picture of this down the line sometime.
Scarlet Fury
Just at the beginning of summer I did this for my sister; she wanted artwork of a character in a story she was writing, known as Scarlet Fury. So I drummed this up one afternoon.
I wasn’t too happy with how the feet came out, but I love the details I put into the background. She liked that about the piece as well, apparently.
Maybe one of these days I’ll actually get this colored. I don’t usually do full scenes.
