Flaming June – Vector WIP

Here’s how my Vector project is coming along so far. Got to use the Cintiq with some spiffy brushes; looks great, don’t you think? Spent quite a bit of time on the ship itself. I’m real glad how it’s turning out!

Waaa, Kereina Uchuu Senkan!

Decided to poke around with the Cintiq tablets in my classroom today. This was the result! I LOVE these things.

So I had a concept of what I was going to do for my Vector project, so I had to spend some time sketching out some stuff. I decided to do a vector of a spaceship flaming through space; realizing how spot on the tablets were, I decided to give doodle drawings a shot.

The result was a Sheena, Yukari and Ling Ling all going googly eyes at the pretty spaceship. Hence the name of the post, which roughly translates to “Ooooh, a beautiful space battleship!”

Asian-Themed Art – Color Theory Class

When I had finished one of my assignments in color theory class, I decided to paint this on left over bristol board. I believed this was denotes for numbers and a date if I recall correctly.

ETSU – Ducks in a Flood

Saw this on the way to class today.

I first took the photo thinking it was astounding that the gap was flooded between the road and train tracks, then saw this flock of ducks swimming around in the water.

As you can see past the plastic barrier, the current was actually concerning. It looked like they were doing okay, but likely because they were away from the main stream.

Spacelines

This was something that’s been sitting around for awhile, but I had done this for my color theory class last semester. I had to use complementary color tones to show a piece and make a composition of; this was the result. Planetary Spacelines! As you can tell, I love using green, yellow and purple.

If I did this 6 minutes earlier I would have had a bunch of 2’s in a line.

I know I haven’t blogged here in forever. In all honestly I didn’t think people bothered with what was going on in my life, so I no longer bothered and didn’t post a single viable thing since last February. It didn’t and still doesn’t make sense to tell everyone something when they don’t want to even listen to it. I probably still feel the same way…

But I digress. This isn’t the time or the place for this. I have an important announcement to make.

Mass Effect/Tales of Symphonia Valentine Crossover – theEyZmaster

Back in college when I had a bit of money and was full-blown fanboy of the Mass Effect franchise, I commissioned this amazing artist to do a crossover between the Tales of Symphonia and Mass Effect universes. The result was Commander Shepard coming to Sheena’s rescue.

Even up to this day it still gets quite a few laughs. Apparently it’s one of the better ideas for crossovers I’ve come up with. And it was done just in time for Valentine’s, too.

Life Milestone – My First Personal Website Ever

This time and day was the first time I had gotten my first ever domain, janeilharricharan.com. I had used some of my school money and had my brother help me set it up. I never had my own website before; I so bad wanted to blog and share all my art on it.

While this was a small step, it was a big one for me. I remember even going out and buying a double mushroom and cheese pizza from Pizza Hut to celebrate the occasion. No free hosting, no nobody telling me what to post on it, no running out of hosting space. I was thrilled.

VLOG – 001

Just a quick update. Sorry if I sound a little rushed in this one. But got my computer updated, for now. Have some stuff coming up soon, so stay tuned!

Sheena and 007 Pierce Brosnan Collab – Aitia

This was a real interesting piece to say the least. I met this girl by the name of Aitia online, who listened to my idea of a lineart collab. She took my idea of drawing James Bond and Sheena Fujiayabashi together, then let me color the piece! This has been in production since August of 2010, so I’m glad to finally get it done.

It was one of my first big pieces I had spent time to color properly with new methods such as multiply and layers, and I even got to use my brother’s Mac at the time to work on it to finish (it even worked wonderfully with my tablet!)

I’m less than impressed with the background, but I can always visit this piece in the future and give it a facelift when my skills get better, right?
