Decided to poke around with the Cintiq tablets in my classroom today. This was the result! I LOVE these things.

So I had a concept of what I was going to do for my Vector project, so I had to spend some time sketching out some stuff. I decided to do a vector of a spaceship flaming through space; realizing how spot on the tablets were, I decided to give doodle drawings a shot.

The result was a Sheena, Yukari and Ling Ling all going googly eyes at the pretty spaceship. Hence the name of the post, which roughly translates to “Ooooh, a beautiful space battleship!”

This was something that’s been sitting around for awhile, but I had done this for my color theory class last semester. I had to use complementary color tones to show a piece and make a composition of; this was the result. Planetary Spacelines! As you can tell, I love using green, yellow and purple.

Back in college when I had a bit of money and was full-blown fanboy of the Mass Effect franchise, I commissioned this amazing artist to do a crossover between the Tales of Symphonia and Mass Effect universes. The result was Commander Shepard coming to Sheena’s rescue.

Even up to this day it still gets quite a few laughs. Apparently it’s one of the better ideas for crossovers I’ve come up with. And it was done just in time for Valentine’s, too.

This time and day was the first time I had gotten my first ever domain, janeilharricharan.com. I had used some of my school money and had my brother help me set it up. I never had my own website before; I so bad wanted to blog and share all my art on it.

While this was a small step, it was a big one for me. I remember even going out and buying a double mushroom and cheese pizza from Pizza Hut to celebrate the occasion. No free hosting, no nobody telling me what to post on it, no running out of hosting space. I was thrilled.

This was a real interesting piece to say the least. I met this girl by the name of Aitia online, who listened to my idea of a lineart collab. She took my idea of drawing James Bond and Sheena Fujiayabashi together, then let me color the piece! This has been in production since August of 2010, so I’m glad to finally get it done.

It was one of my first big pieces I had spent time to color properly with new methods such as multiply and layers, and I even got to use my brother’s Mac at the time to work on it to finish (it even worked wonderfully with my tablet!)

I’m less than impressed with the background, but I can always visit this piece in the future and give it a facelift when my skills get better, right?

I’m not exactly sure when I started to do this drawing, but I know I was in Color Theory class and we were watching a movie of Exit Through the Gift Shop, a documentary about the street art movement. I honestly was getting a little bored with it and my mind wandered to Dawnstar, realizing I hadn’t quite visualized my Yorina character. I decided to give her a stab and try to draw her out.

This was the final result, and had her all done to this point by the time the movie had ended. The biggest thing I was worried about was the face, and I actually did make it passable. I was happy with the entire result, and that snark that showed in her face became engrained into her personality as time went on. Out of all the other Dawnstar characters that I drew, she had come out the best, ironically.

This was a plane I tried doodling one day on my Bamboo tablet. I had saved it and said I’d come back to it later, but never did. I should finish this one of these days.

I really liked how it seemed to be a mash up of an RAF bomber and a business jet. I think I had it in mind to make a military shuttle/courier.
