This is an older piece that I redid with my newfound art skills of this year. I was very happy how this turned out, especially after bringing my imaginary childhood ship to life. I thought the “pixeling” of ships was limiting and rudimentary, but it was definitely much more pleasing to look at, over my not-so-good-anime drawings I was attempting.

This is something I’ll be trying in the future again. Let’s see if it’ll stick around.

Well, it’s official. I have a job again, but this time thankfully it’s something a lot different than dealing with annoying customers at a retail store. I’m now a physics lab assistant! I have a ton of work to do in the labs and help the physics professor out, but tasks include maintaining science equipment, taking care of the observatory among other things. It’s a ton of work, and first thing was getting the workstation actually working and online! So a shot of accomplishment at the end of the day’s work after that.

I’m sorry I didn’t get a whole picture as the lab has cameras and they don’t like disturbances, but this is how it looks where I typically access the computer when I’m at Walters State. All my deviantART uploads, browsing the Internet, checking e-mail, using Myspace; you know, the usual. Things I don’t get to do when I’m at home as dumb as that sounds. I pretty much visit here every time I get to campus to catch up with things.

While the headphones are dumb, I sometimes use my own; but the computer is a whole lot better than that 850Mhz Windows Me machine I use. So there’s that, I guess.

If things change in the future, I hopefully don’t have to spend so much time here.

So I decided to get a smaller tank for my room, mainly that I can put some different fish that wouldn’t fit in a community tank; I always liked bettas and gouramis, but while I’ve had success with them in the past, they seem to be better off apart from community-friendly fish. This was partially an experiment in that direction.

I already did the shakedown and cycle with it, so my first three residents is a cleaner shrimp, a freshwater mussel and a pearl gourami (male with the red fin). I named him Guti, after the character in my sci-fi stories I write who is a sentient fish that causes a lot of mayhem.

I really like this 5-gallon tank because of the bio-wheel filter system, it’s certainly a lot different than the cartridge thing I use on other tanks! While it as a bit tricky to find appropriate other equipment such as a tank heater, it was worth the trouble I think.

I’ve had some people asking me about Orion’s interior, specifically the inside. So I decided to grab this shot before I headed out; considering it’s Monday and all. So what’s going on here?

Well first, you get quad power outlets, leather boot for the shifter, pedal plates, steering wheel cover, rubber liner for the handbrake well and while it’s not visible, a temperature/compass/clock on the floor of the console. I also have a neck brace on the seat belt to make it more comfortable when driving long distance.

Upper section you get to see my radar detector (which works better as a scanner for everything else BUT police radar), a notepad to jot down something quick and an dolphin amulet I had bought from Pigeon Forge a few years ago.

The blue switch does light up, and controls the runner lights on the windshield sprayer nozzles; they’re a bright blue, and illegal to drive with in Tennessee. So I have a manual switch to control them separately from the main lights. The hole to the left of it was for another switch that toggles with a nice green light, and is supposed to be setup for a pair of fog lights in the near future.

So yes, my cockpit ladies and gentlemen. Now you know what it’s like to be at Orion’s helm.

It’s been awhile since I’ve flown, and it’s been a very long time since I’ve gotten onto a larger plane that’s not a CRJ. So as soon as I got seated on this Airbus 319 to head out to LaGuardia, I knew I had to get some sort of photo. Just look at the size of that wing!

Honestly, it was a very great feeling; almost felt like I was on a starship.

I swiped this from a relative’s phone. On our way back home, I decided to be super silly, making it out that my glasses had a pair of eyes. I had no idea they snapped the photo till later, but it did give them a laugh, at least! The hat isn’t too bad, though.

As much as I wanted to go sightseeing when I went to Florida, this was not to be. However, the family decided to swing by this little NASA Hall of Fame center before the actual space center, which did have a few cool exhibits and a couple of interesting rides. At least I got a T-shirt and hat combo out of it.

I was told not to take the camera in, so I apologize for the flip phone quality.

Sorry if the desk is a little messy, but I figured that someone would like to see what my computer is for all that I currently do, such as deviantART and the like. Meet the Millenium Mainframe.

This is an HP xl847. Windows Me OS (hence the name “Millenium”), 40GB hard drive and two optical drives, one being a DVD-R. Graphics card is an HP Vanta 16, and has 128MB of RAM. Optional equipment is the yoke on the bottom, sometimes for flight games.

Also I know fishie’s tank has low later, I’m giving it a cleaning in a bit.
