Eateries – Pan Fried Tilapia
I was not getting a lot of hands-on experience cooking fish, but living on my own was putting preparing food more squarely on my shoulders. One afternoon I finally got an almost perfect mix of breaded, pan-fried tilapia. Flavored with paprika, pepper and salt, I absolutely loved this, considering the last time I attempted this as a disaster. As I’m moving out of my place next week after graduation day, this will probably be one of the last big meals I’m cooking here unless I can top this off with something else.
ETSU – Ball Hall Window
During my 2nd to last week of college at ETSU, I was in the print lab getting ready to hand in some stuff for Typography. It was semi-bittersweet; I wanted out of school because it felt like I was just being stuck there and not accomplishing a whole bunch, but I loved how it felt being late spring and having a bit of roam in the print lab. I happened to look out the window and saw how nice the yard looked outside, and decided to grab a shot. You can see a bit of me in the mirror in the lower right corner.
This was Ball Hall for those who was curious, 2nd floor I believe. I think this is looking north towards the big yard in front of Ball and Sam Wilson.
Raine and Sheena have more important things to do! They don’t have time to be your personal mafia!

DIGM Parking Garage Stairwell
As I was heading back home from classes, I got this great sight of the stairwell and took a photo. It reminded me of the airport for some reason, and I thought it contrasted pretty well with the wall light and darkness on the side. Might make a good blog thumb, who knows?
ETSU Parking Lot Garage Construction
When leaving a student counseling session one day, I wasn’t in too much of a hurry to get back to where I had parked, which should be the lot seen here. I then realized there was a pretty good view of the superstructure of the parking garage, and decided to get a shot for posterity.
That particular month for me was real stressful, so the sight plus the nice weather was welcome.
Go Home Shuttle, You’re Drunk
Was lounging around in my apartment one night, watching BBC on my TV via my laptop (yep, that’s how I entertain myself!). I often kept my die-cast Space Shuttle as an end-table decoration, especially since it was recently acquired in my trip to the space center in Florida.
Either rate, I had glanced over to grab a swig of ginger ale and saw this. Obviously I recognized that refraction was going on, but somehow I got it in my head that the shuttle was “drunk”, and found it hilarious before taking the picture.
As a reminder, I don’t drink. I’m someone who calls building lobbies “airlocks” and would spam Japanese emojis on forms to the local Tennessean population, much to my amusement. That’s just how my head works.
Eateries – Waffle House Eggs and Hash
While traveling with my Dad back home to Tennessee, we stopped in at a Waffle House near Lake Park, Georgia I think. I got some eggs and hash with mushrooms and cheese, along with their trademark coffee. It was quite enjoyable, and not bad for a first meal there (yes, that’s the first time I ate there!)
On the Road – Florida Badlands
I’m in the middle of Florida in yet another foray. A/C is holding, I have a spiffy DSLR with me to use this time around, and I get to take a detour and trek through the middle of the Everglades this time around. For some reason, this scene reminds me something out of an older 90’s anime, don’t know quite why.
On the Road – Empty McDonalds
On our way in to Florida, we ended up at this random McDonalds (not sure where, I think it was Georgia). I was inclined to snap a photo as I never had seen a McDonalds designed like that before. Sue me, they all look old-fashioned in Tennessee. Nothing like this.
