DIGM – Nuke Launched Detected

While I was heading out one day from DIGM classes, I noticed one of the computers had this typed into the DOS prompt. Looks like someone had a crack at a terminal joke while the computer was being wiped with Norton Ghost!

While I didn’t get to grab another photo of it, it stayed like that for another couple days. So the joke was around for a bit.

ETSU – Library Dome Ceiling

By far, the ETSU library is one of my most favorite places of campus. It is a partial shame that parking is horrible to access.

One thing I’ve grown to love, is the late hours that you can use to step into the library. I strolled in about 10:16 at night when I grabbed this shot,

The ceiling always gave me the vibe that I was someplace grand. Like Washington D.C, a more classic subway, heck even a museum. Something with class and gravitas.

Definitely a far cry from Walters State library.

Abnormal Temperature Ranges

I love my new tablet. It’s like I’m living a century in the future. I don’t need to carry my laptop everywhere.

But sometimes it gets bugs. And when it loses the Internet connection, strange things happen. As with here.

I would think with such temperature ranges, we’d all be dead by now. -_-;;

Wendy’s Digital Menu Error

For years I imagined that digital billboards would be a thing of the future. I had NO idea that it would be this recent! While this was a welcome development, there were still bugs to iron out. I caught this one night with my family when we stopped somewhere. This Wendy’s menu in-restaurant was running on Windows 7 and needed to run and update. Typical Windows.

On the Road – I-95 North

I don’t quite remember where this is, but this is headed up on the way home somewhere on I-95. Pretty sure we left Florida at this point; while the photo is blurry, you can see we had 140 miles till the South Carolina I-26 exit. Also you get a good shot of my Acer Iconia A100 tablet. Works pretty well as a GPS once you solve it’s power issues and get it’s map data.

On the Road – RC Plane

On our way out back home, Dad decided that we sightsee at least one place. So we had an earlier start than usual. While we were heading up north, I passed this guy with an RC plane on the back of a trailer. Kinda impressed that the plane was just fitted like that. Admittedly, that’s the first time I saw that big of an RC plane in person; it was always limited to Youtube videos or photos online.

Ron Paul – Hope for Demon Waffle

One day my cousin and I were walking together on the ETSU campus, and we ran across this…interesting setup of stickers. I wasn’t quite aware of who Demon Waffle was, but Medhavin definitely knew and had a big kick out of this. Honestly if it wasn’t for him laughing so much I wouldn’t have snapped this.

OBEY GIANT – ETSU Sighting

Okay, so this needs a little bit of explaining.

Back when I was taking Color Theory, we had to watch a movie called Exit Through the Gift Shop. While I’m not super artsy, it was actually an interesting documentary and I felt that it was quite compelling into showing the state of some pop art culture.

In the first part, a part was shown about a guy called Shepard Fairey, who made this campaign called Obey Giant. More or less it’s a simplified version of the face of Andre the Giant, often paired with the word “OBEY”. This was plastered around numerous places, even up to today. I spied my first variant of this icon in New York City on a billboard in Queens. I definitely felt “educated”, heh.

Well, lo and behold to my surprise when I saw this out in the wild at ETSU! This was little 2-inch square sticker, near their regular history museum on that path that ran near Gilbreath. It made me feel warm and fuzzy that someone was keeping up to date with the art trends.

In the 10_TOUHOU~1 Zone

This screenshot off my iPhone pretty much summed up my night life when at ETSU; listening to Touhou doujin music, chatting in online friends from deviantART from Skype, and up at the middle of the night working on something. As you can tell, I was a pretty big fan of Yukari at the time.
