This was an old drawn piece that I had done in my sketchbook back at ETSU, but decided to do over and give it a shot in digital a few years later. I had bought a bunch of brush packs in an attempt to paint better, and gave a few of those a shot here. These were all oil-painting type brushes, and I think they gave the effect I was looking for quite amply.

This was a gift I did for one of two people I was talking to a lot at the time; this person was someone I met at Animazement 2008, and had been talking to since. I had always joked with her fitting in right a home with my fantasy settings, so you could say this was a nod-off to that.

 

She liked it, and I even made a reference how she liked the hot peppers in the garden. So the entire idea evolved into her persona being a “harvest girl”. I had a lot of fun coloring this one, especially since I was trying some watercolor brushes I had gotten for Photoshop.

This piece was a big jump for me, because I pumped it out in one evening on my newly owned Cintiq tablet. I was so happy with how it turned out, though looking back at it I have a long ways to go to translate my better skills to the digital medium.

 

I don’t know where I quite got the idea for this, but the idea came from watching some recent Youtube videos from the Youtuber known as Markiplier. Specifically his playthroughs for the game Mad Father and Witch’s House. I guess that rubbed off from somewhere.
