Leaving Home for ETSU

I apologize if the photo is blurry, but I swiped this from my Mom; she caught this as I was boarding my car to head to my apartment, with m last load of precious items to permanently stay at my apartment. Class was the next day, so the earlier I left and got settled in, the better. I told my family goodbye and basically just left on the dot at 6PM. It was a very weird and strange feeling, and I had never felt so independent in my whole life.

It was bittersweet, but I had been longing such a chance since I was supposed to go to Walters State in 2005; and this felt like a new page, a new reset to try again. But for the most part, it felt a lot better and more solid than what was going on then. Like something right had at least happened.

Last Day of Work!

This was my last day of work today. While helping organize stuff in the shift, I put together this wooden block tower out of the space blocks that are used to pad the brackets. A guy on the other line tried to knock it over with a block he threw (which it resisted) and even the forklift guy tried to shake up the cage to make it fall down (which it only fell down partially!). Most of the folks there had a good laugh out of it, so there’s that.

ETSU, here I come.

Update – Moving!

Word can’t quite describe what’s going through my head at the moment; I’m finally moving to somewhere else to go to ETSU! Definitely uncertain territory I’m heading into, but I’m also eager and excited. At least I’ll know some familiar faces up there, as my cousin and sister will be attending. Too bad I don’t have a roommate, though.

As I still have two more whole months till school stars, the process will be slow and drawn-out in between of work. But the process has begun, nonetheless. It’s official; I have another place than the rural country backwoods of Parrottsville to call home, even if its for a little while.

Yesterday I realized a lot of things. One of them was that autumn was really here.

It was chilly, the wind was blowing, and it was cold enough I considered a jacket. Some of the pumpkin plants had already died, and the only things that were left were other pumpkins, jalapeno peppers, okra, and a lettuce.

I discovered what I thought to be spinach turned out to be an echinacea flower. I was surprised. I had waited months and months to see what the “mystery plant” was, knowing it wasn’t a normal vegetable of some sort. I sense an object lesson but can’t seem to find it…probably need to reflect more.

So much time has passed…a lot of things have happened, but big picture wise, a lot of things just seem to revert back to normal, with a negative effect following. I found a written journal that I haven’t done anything with in 20 months. School assignments from Geography keep popping up here and there. Hair from my cosplay wig showed up last night…it’s all a reminder of the past four years of my life.

I’m in a reflective but regretful mood, but still looking what can be done, and how to leave to where I need to go…

Apologies for not being able to write a blog sooner. School has been very taxing and time-consuming for me, and when I wasn’t doing either, I was out of energy. Nevertheless, here goes.

Academic progress seems satisfactory so far. I have poured in hours to studying math, and though it looks like I didn’t hit rock bottom, I still need to continue to study that even harder. Art seems fun, Geography is a little bit of a drag due to a very cold room and a 3 hour length class, and Western Civ because of all the people packed around me.

I’m not going to explain all my problems to bore you, but I’m not doing well for the moment. Attempting to be upbeat every single day with no place to plug in and charge up your upbeat battery drains you after a while. I haven’t been able to charge for weeks…

Besides that, started liking Steampunk genre style and cosplaying, so working on that. Fish are doing fine, Orion needs tuning and maintenance.

This is another somewhat short blog…I’m itching like crazy. Likely the outdoors.

Swapped games with U that he asked for, and got a Venus Flytrap. Now to just get it home and plant it, among some other things, like draw an art trade for Tekli.

I went to M’s band concert yesterday. Had a ton of fun, and got to see what a high school looked like for the first time in my life. It was an interesting experience, me never going to high school. Not sure of what to make of what I saw, but that much I will say for now.

Well, a somewhat uneventful day…

Went to Morristown to give Walters State my info for next semester, then spent an hour or two at Norm’s place and played Halo 2 on XBox Live with Pp. That was fun, considering I never touched Live in the first place.

Wow, what a weekend. Was very busy on Sunday spring cleaning my room; part of it is done, at least I finished my closet. Lounged around the place on Saturday, hope to take it easy this afternoon.

CG’ed Larina last night, will try to upload later on. Have yet to type another chapter for Space Raptors – 2007. I actually need to finish that story, and give a snippet so that people can read what’s being created. That Word doc is sitting there almost every other day, and I do look at it!

Fish are doing fine, I’m just feeling blue. But I’m okay. Maybe I’ll try to do a good Space Empires game when I get home.

It may sound lame, but someone please reach out! I get that people have gone to do stuff for the summer, but it’s only immediate family that’s showing up in my call log since the semester ended. it’s actually been going on for a bit before that, but I guess I’m only now noticing it.

Okay, here the blog for the last time this week until the beginning of next week. Sorry for no blog yesterday….

Finally finished my art trades. I’m really happy about that. 😀 Actually, I have one request and one more pending, but the two that were high priority are now finished.

I got hold of Advent Rising for XBox and The Swan Princess on DVD; I finally own them! Thanks to Brandon for the suggestion of the game, and thanks to T for letting me watch the Swan Princess ages ago…

Wow, I haven’t typed a blog in two days.that definitely qualifies me to type on early in the day on a Wednesday.

Monday was semi-okay; just busy a lot. Mom’s relatives are over, and today’s the first day we’re actually getting to visit with them.

Yesterday, I went to a Halo tournament in Morristown. I took my brother with me, and we took our XBox over with our four controllers. Pp was there, so my brother and I were set on one team, while Pp was on another. It was a stalemate; Keith came over to play some, but Andrew as the only person on my team who could steadily kill Pp. I hope we do better on our next one…
