I only found out today that Pier 1 closed all their physical locations. This hit me quite hard; I know I didn’t really purchase stuff from them, but it was a place I loved to stroll, explore and just basically browse. It was one of the top 5 places I’d go to when back at ETSU, short of Starbucks, the mall and and Books A Million.

As a matter of fact, Pier 1 in Johnson City was in the same plaza. I’d just park one spot and walk to both.

Usually I’d go there Saturday evenings, when I got bored at home or wanted to stretch my legs. Sometimes on a Sunday; but usually Saturday. I was frequenting the store almost every week in 2012, especially after I moved back to ETSU in the fall.

Zelda: Is our new home not amazing?

 

Sheena: Yeah! The high speed internet! No cows in the backyard! The city!

 

 

As my time was winding down at my factory job, I was starting to spend weekends and occasional nights at my apartment to get the feel of what it’d be like living there. This was one of those times. While plodding away at the computer, randomly decided to pose my Sheena and Zelda figurines together and snap this.

For Christmas Eve we had alfredo. Spiffy enough, though I helped with it this time around. Bean sprouts included on the side, because it obviously has to be healthy.

 

The plate and fork are my specific doing, these were “zen” utensils I bought at Pier 1 earlier that year to try to adapt to feng shuei, in an attempt to be “calm”. It was tricky eating the alfredo with a wooden bamboo fork, but it was interesting to say the least.
