2020

The title of this prompt struck me a few ways, and decided to add a bit of intrigue and other stuff to it. It originally was meant to have more than one part, which I unfortunately was never able to finish. I’ll need to do that someday.

Done in October 16, 2019.

Note: My writing for Reddit writing prompts is different for brevity. While this is a good example of my writing, I often omit backstory and several details to create a concise post. Please look at my other works if you’re looking for my more regular style of writing.

Huschens is an Easter Egg nod-off to Angry Cops.

OP

I wrinkled my eyebrows at the person who interrupted me, clearly not enjoying be pulled away from my drink. It was Gunnery Sergeant Huschens; clean chiseled face, camo fatigues and a drill instructor hat. At first his voice sounded official and very commanding, but upon hearing me answer affirmatively, changed to that that half New Jersey accent, ushering me with an informal hand wave.

I sigh heavily, grabbing my cup of coffee and making my way across the hangar.

For a few years now, you’ve probably known I’ve promised to collab or do something, but have taken months to even years to finish what I committed to.

Or say I’m around, draw some art or write something, but then I’m gone for months at a time.

This I sincerely apologize for. Some things have been going on in my life the past few years. This includes a long-standing job laying me off, not getting proper employment since and even losing a standard place to sleep and think clearly. This is mostly the latter, which involved not having my desktop computer available readily available on-hand.

I know I’ve been mentioning this for awhile now, but not really delved into it. I also have been promising and update which I’ve not delivered either. So let’s try to get some of that out of the way.

I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile now, and had to come up with something. So this is the thank you to my Instagram followers, which is now up to 55 followers. It takes me a long time to get followers, and I greatly value every one of you guys who decide to take time and check out my stuff.

So I appreciate it, I really do. I’m glad that my content is interesting to someone out there in the world.

It’s been quite a bit since I’ve actually had any announcements, and I’ve actually had a few to state since the holidays last year. But today I do have something a bit more business and serious to give an update on.

For awhile now, I’ve had a “Bad Client Clause” in my terms of service on my website, mainly pointed towards time-wasters and such. Don’t harass me, doxx me, that sort of stuff. Really basic kind of things.

I’ve never really had to point them and actually use them, but unfortunately that has changed in the past six months. Not only will I be pointing this out to future clients, but I’ve updated it to give me more protection and security. Specifically two issues:

  • If there is a milestone agreement, demanding the final-end product without paying the subsequent milestones
  • Attempting to seek out my personal information to call me on my cell phone, my friends, or personal online presence (or other connection) for a non-emergency manner.

I had a clause in my terms for something of the sort in general, but I am specifically spelling and pointing it out now.

What does this mean?

For once, I actually get my Valentines art done! Please stay happy out there today. I know it may seem crummy if you’re single (I am, I know all too well how that feels), but it’ll work out. Improve yourself and be active about changing being single, if that’s what you want. That last bit is extremely important. Fingers crossed we’ll both get somewhere one day.

EDIT: I was told by my an online friend “to stop giving the bug girls guns.” I may or may not heed that suggestion.
