Xudos Battleship
I decided to give this a stab after doing my Starfighter Dragoon piece. This is a Xudos battleship, based on the SE3 shipset that my brother had made. Can use some tweaks but am mostly happy with it.
Meet Kira the Betta
Sorry this isn’t much of a picture, but world, meet Kira. Kira, meet world. He’s my new betta, and sits on my bookshelf above my PC. He doesn’t have a bad setup, but I do have to change his water a lot more often because of no filtration system. Still, he has a pretty good life. Much easier than keeping a bit 30-gallon tank, I will admit.
Starfighter Dragoon X
This was my 3rd attempt at spaceship pixel art back when I was starting to feel comfortable doing digital art. I took a lot of inspiration from Starblade and Project Dragoon in its design, wanting something sleek and more airplane looking. Done in MS Paint and with a trackball mouse!
USS Novastar – Odometer 111111
This was certainly an odd occurrence, and I was glad I was around to catch it. But just as I got home with the USS Novastar, I realized that the odometer was at 111,111. Very interesting. Despite having a crappy cell phone camera I snapped a picture for posterity. From then on I’d snap pictures if I could when they’d hit an interesting combination or a milestone.
Star and Saturn N80 Pulse Blaster Rifle
Decided to try my pixel-art style to something else other than ships; such as weapons! My primary weapon of choice for stuff like Space Raptors and such; a Star and Saturn N80 Pulse Blaster Rifle.
Features include ammo counter, guaranteed vacuum performance and a built in flashlight/tactical laser.
Sorry it’s not in much of a bigger resolution; my MSPaint tends to conk out when the file gets to a certain size.
GRF Andromeda
This is an older piece that I redid with my newfound art skills of this year. I was very happy how this turned out, especially after bringing my imaginary childhood ship to life. I thought the “pixeling” of ships was limiting and rudimentary, but it was definitely much more pleasing to look at, over my not-so-good-anime drawings I was attempting.
This is something I’ll be trying in the future again. Let’s see if it’ll stick around.
I’m Now a Physics Lab Rat
Well, it’s official. I have a job again, but this time thankfully it’s something a lot different than dealing with annoying customers at a retail store. I’m now a physics lab assistant! I have a ton of work to do in the labs and help the physics professor out, but tasks include maintaining science equipment, taking care of the observatory among other things. It’s a ton of work, and first thing was getting the workstation actually working and online! So a shot of accomplishment at the end of the day’s work after that.
WSCC Library Computer Lab
I’m sorry I didn’t get a whole picture as the lab has cameras and they don’t like disturbances, but this is how it looks where I typically access the computer when I’m at Walters State. All my deviantART uploads, browsing the Internet, checking e-mail, using Myspace; you know, the usual. Things I don’t get to do when I’m at home as dumb as that sounds. I pretty much visit here every time I get to campus to catch up with things.
While the headphones are dumb, I sometimes use my own; but the computer is a whole lot better than that 850Mhz Windows Me machine I use. So there’s that, I guess.
If things change in the future, I hopefully don’t have to spend so much time here.
New Bedroom Fish Tank
So I decided to get a smaller tank for my room, mainly that I can put some different fish that wouldn’t fit in a community tank; I always liked bettas and gouramis, but while I’ve had success with them in the past, they seem to be better off apart from community-friendly fish. This was partially an experiment in that direction.
I already did the shakedown and cycle with it, so my first three residents is a cleaner shrimp, a freshwater mussel and a pearl gourami (male with the red fin). I named him Guti, after the character in my sci-fi stories I write who is a sentient fish that causes a lot of mayhem.
I really like this 5-gallon tank because of the bio-wheel filter system, it’s certainly a lot different than the cartridge thing I use on other tanks! While it as a bit tricky to find appropriate other equipment such as a tank heater, it was worth the trouble I think.
