Apparently a lot of people liked my Nora character from the last round of Inktober, so I figured I’d feature her again! Here she is just soaking up the night sky, with not a single thing on her mind. Sometimes people appreciate that kind of calm.

And while I went this direction, everyone in my circles seemed to draw mindless monsters or hollow creatures. Oops?

In 2004,  Chris “Crobato” Robato worked on a massive fanfiction set in the Homeworld universe. It was well over 100,000 words, and was hosted on the now defunct RelicNews forum; a hotspot for all Homeworld fans in those days.

I did this several days ago, but I didn’t want to show it till it popped up on Bozocow’s 24-hour Homeworld stream last night. And to my pleasant surprise, he did!

This is my take on the new figure that showed up in the official announcement trailer, which I am assuming is Karan (or at least another S’jet). I absolutely love the hair design, and she kind of looked all wise and ancient with a nice female touch, mixed with this space age tech such as the interface plug and light ring.

I’m getting better at full pieces! Though I need to stop taking 3 hours on something like this and work more efficiently.

For having done some sort of Zelda doodles in the day, I’ve never really done any Homeworld fanart that I can recall (or at least, something serious and canon-related). I first was introduced to this series in 2008, and it is one of the most influential space strategy games I’ve ever played; so that needs to be remedied.

With Homeworld’s 20th anniversary coming up (along with the announcement of their 3rd game earlier this month), I did this as all I could think about was Karan S’jet and her “Banana Boat”, a nickname which many Homeworld players dub the Hiigaran/Kushan mothership. This led to the fruits on her head; the other objects are some items that some Homeworld players have jokingly mentioned she’d have in her tank in passing.

Indirect credit goes to DeepChrome, who had done a comic back in the old RelicNews days featuring Karan as the “BananaQueen”.

Somebody on Reddit wanted a spider with tentacles digging into the dark side of the moon. I did this quick take on it, though they did say “it wasn’t what they had in mind.” I’m assuming they didn’t like the sci-fi fighters doing recon, and wanted something more “Lovecraftian.” In that case, hope you guys enjoy.

This is the result of a joke from someone out of Mobius PvE making a joke about my previous piece yesterday. Apparently they clearly were able to ascertain that not only were the two gals the co-pilots, that also they meant a lot in the piece. As such, they made a innuendo joke about me being on top of things, which is a reference to the pilot on top/co-pilots on the bottom seating arrangement of both the Type-9 Heavy and Type-10 Defender. I thought it was a funny pun, and had to actually visualize this image that was in my head.

Morale of this piece? Make sure your copilots don’t mind you being on top of them. And Lakon should probably build better seating arrangements in their ships. I’m also sure those two would be pretty coordinated to fly like that; almost like those super robot anime things.

Except last year, I pretty much try to get a birthday piece done every year. It varies in content, but it generally is characters of mine being kind or silly. This year I went for the former, and had my OC Jennifer, along with my blog mascot Yorina grab a seat with a self-portrait of yours truly. I rarely have myself depicted in artworks, so it was a little charming, to be honest.

As usual, I did the coloring and the background, and opted to use the station background from Rafferty’s Mobius as the backdrop. On top of my that, my Type-10 Obsidian Anvil is pretty prominent on the pad. It seems more mashed up with genres, but you can always count on me crunching genres like this together.

This was a fun little crossover art freebie I did for @fungiwoman, who takes pretty spiffy mushroom photos on her Instagram account! Here I crossed her over with peeps from my Janus Fairytale setting, having a big get-together and swapping a variety of mushrooms. Elizabeth and company get a taste of Earth mushrooms, and fungiwoman gets some interesting samples of Talmeron fungi.
